The Young And The Restless (Y&R) scoop for Monday, May 18 reveals Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) will tell Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) is not his friend.
Also coming up, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) will implore Phyllis to do the right thing. Plus, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will try to make a deal with Christine Romalotti (Lauralee Bell). And Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will tell Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) he’s worried about his brother.
Y&R spoilers tease Adam and Chelsea will have a mind numbing conversation about their offscreen son. Talk will turn to Phyllis and Adam will worry that Nick will make a deal for Matt with her behind their backs. However, Chelsea will say Nick is focusing on the family.
Y&R Daily Scoop – Make Her Feel Bad For Buying Matt Clark Coffee
Chelsea will add she understands why his brother wants Matt off the street. But Adam will say Nick’s still taking drugs, so he isn’t thinking straight. Chelsea will ask why he’s not getting help yet. Adam will say because having the fentanyl in his system makes Nick feel good.
Meanwhile, Nick will ask Phyllis if she’s going to hand over Matt. “Not so fast,” she’ll reply, adding they don’t even have a contract. Phyllis will add she wants the charges dropped and she’s keeping her company. Nick will say he’ll handle it. “Take the win, I’ll make sure my father lets it go.” Then Nick will call Christine, asking to meet.
Phyllis will head to Crimson Lights and run into Sharon. She’ll ask what Phyllis is doing there, since Esther Valentine (Kate Linder) told her she bought two coffees earlier. Phyllis will ask if she’s trying to make her feel bad for buying too much.
“No, I’m trying to make you feel bad for buying Matt coffee!” Sharon will shout. “It was for him, wasn’t it?!” But Phyllis will lie and say it was for Lauren Fenmore (Tracey E. Bregman). Sharon will say Nick told her everything, and she’ll beg her to do the right thing.
Phyllis will say everyone turned their back on her. So Sharon will ask if that’s why she’s turned to Matt, someone who inflicts pain on people, including her own family. And she’ll warn Phyllis she will be the one he hurts next.
Back at the GCAC, Nick will implore Christine to drop the charges against Phyllis. “Someone committed fraud,” she’ll reply. She’s not about to drop anything unless he can give her a reason to do it. Nick will tell her there’s a violent criminal he could hand over to her in exchange, Matt Clark.
Young And The Restless Scoop – Christine Asks What’s Wrong With Nick
“Why offer Matt, why not bring them both to justice?” Christine will ask. Nick will ask her to stop focusing on Phyllis and focus on Matt instead. Christine will ask him where Matt is and he won’t reply. “You don’t know, do you?” she’ll ask Nick. And she’ll realize Phyllis does. “You’re letting her extort you, what the hell is wrong with you Nick?”
Finally, Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk) will meet up with Matt at the Chancellor Park Cafe. She’ll say she was so glad to hear from him. He’ll tell her he’s totally freaked out. He also found out the guy who hates him is from the Newman family. “I have a big target on my back and I don’t even know why.”
Patty will say she has a family who hates her too. And she’ll ask what Phyllis told him. He’ll say she’s been great but Patty has a high level of empathy and he could really use a friend. “Most of what Phyllis told you is true,” she’ll admit. “I got treatment and I got better.”
However, the people in town won’t accept it. But she’s decided to stick it out and be brave. Matt will say he feels like they have a kinship, like they’re the same person. He wonders what he’s done for this family to hate him so much. “Maybe there’s no way I can ever make amends because maybe the things I’ve done are more horrible than I can even imagine.”
Patty will tell him he needs to retrieve his memories. “I cannot live like this, it’s no life at all,” he’ll reply. Then Patty will tell him not to trust Phyllis, she was married to a Newman. “She’s not your friend Matt,” she’ll add. “She is leading you on and is setting you up.”
But Matt will say he thinks he’d know. “I just don’t see someone like that lying to me.” Patty will tell him to leave it alone for now, she’ll handle Phyllis. And she’ll promise Matt she has his back.
